A Medical Certificate of Fitness (MCoF) in the construction industry certifies a worker’s medical capability or capacity to perform specific tasks related to their job. These certificates are based on the tasks the worker is required to perform, the potential exposures they might encounter in the workplace, and the necessary personal protective equipment. Regulation 7(8) of the Construction Regulations mandates that contractors ensure all employees have valid MCoFs specific to their construction work, issued by an occupational health practitioner
Remember, well-trained first aid providers play a critical role in preventing further harm and ensuring safety on construction sites!
